Hi There,
The same situation happens for any new joinee that too at the lower grade rather that manager levels. so wait patiently for some tie. try to gather the information regarding the company. Think that this is the Honeymoon period . later on you will be piled up with work dont take weird decisions.

What kind of work you're looking for? Being HR Professional you should focus to basic HR Infrastructure and align the things if they're not streamline. Take an initial and let your employer see that you're interested in work. This is new tool to check the employee interest in work. Management sometimes use to keep idle new joinees and analyze employee's activities (Willingness, Interest in work etc) secretly and after some time disclose to employee that is very very bad for Professional. So don't give your employer a sense of your not willingess or boredom. Get Start yourself and be positive in your attitude.

Hi,
Swati, dont be impatient. Some organizations dont work as per our pace and expectations. While you have time make an attempt to learn more about the organization business, its business plan and its people, values system. what makes it tick etc..

Hi Swathi,
There is something called test of Capability, so May be your company might analyse your potential and later enhance the role with dosages so you need to wait atleast for one month if it goes behind a month then you can ask your Management and then take your decision

I have read the messages above and let me narrate the experience of a friend in UK.
In his first job in an engineering company, he was given the Blue Book - a book about rules and regulations - and asked to read and digest all about it. He was not a HR person. At the time he joined there were some problems with the development of a new product and all the efforts were towards solving that. So, it was well over a month before he got his first proper assignment of testing a product.
Much later in life, after being appointed as the Regionsal Asst Manager, he was not allowed to do the job that he did as a Principal Productivity Services Analyst and as the Assistant Manager he had practically nothing to do. Whenever he asked the Manager for work, he would say "Be patient, young man, all in good time". Then the work he got was to check some summary reports before despatching. When the manager suddenly died one day, and he had to step into his shoes, he did not know what his boss did. But over two weeks he realised that the manager did not have much to do either. The manager used to spend a lot of time travelling between sites (there were 7 sites where analysts worked) talking to analysts and the warehouse managers.
So, he decided to get higher qualifications and finally quit the place.
Have a nice day.

Definitely its too early to judge.. but well if you are so so kin.. here is a way..
Sometimes acting stupid works.. I'll suggest to ask your boss/alternate reporting person a very stupid questions.. but with big smile and a bit of humor.. when he ask how you are doing?
Say with a big smile, "Nothing, just skimming through policy and procedure and dying to get some live job as I'm all set to go now"
majorly this theory have worked and may be after seeing this enthu.. you will get some tasks.
else just wait and have patience.
