Hi Silpa,

One of the major reasons, I see, for the dissatisfaction among the employees/employers is improper communication. And the responsibility lies more with the employers ( team leaders, representing the employer, towards their team members of course ). As one of our friends rightly said, the employer should have a clear-cut and profitable vision & mission and at the same time should also be able to communicate it properly to down the line.

I always see a lot of satisfied employees turning into dissatisfied because of not having a clue about the reasons why the employer is behaving like this and why he/she is taking such a decisions. At times like these, employees may draw their own conclusions, which may lead to unwanted aftermath in the company. Grapevine discussions and skeptics doing the damage should be curtailed right from the beginning.

It is the responsibility of the employers and their representatives to lay down appropriate platforms for communication and package it in such a way that employees get the right message and do not panic at any point of time.

This becomes further important during crisis as we are in at present.

All the best ,

Hello Silpa:
"We all are Employees from one end and Employers at other end, but are we sure why do as a Employee we are not happy with the job/organisation? and how do we expect our employee to be happy with job/ organisation?"
If an employer does everything well, their employees will be engaged by their jobs but many of them will have to change employers to advance in their careers since few well-managed employers can afford to promote all their deserving employees.
There are so many things that have to be done well that we should not be surprised that so many employers have the same problem--disengaged employees.
Employers that hire for talent minimize the number of disengaged employees.

Satisfaction is Hypothetical term and its very much subjective. Our confusion is that we are searching objective fix theory of satisfaction whereas this is volatile in nature and more concern to human behaviour and attitude depending on reciprocal gesture to the circumstances. For example now in recession retaining the job will drive the employee satisfaction level. During boom time it was opposit. Employees disatisfaction is genesis of his growth and progress. Once employee is satisfied he will seize to grow therafter because he is satisfied.
