Can anyone give your inputs for the following queries. It would be helpful for drafting policies for my organization.
All the questions are pertaining to the Software industry, it will be helpful if the replies are relevant for the same....
1. What are the monetary rewards given to employees other than Salary?
2. On what basis the bonus/incentive is give for Software Engineers, whether its based on performance or a fixed amount and on what basis it is calculated, whether on the Gross Salary or Basic?
3. Other than the monetary rewards, what are the non monetary ways for motivating employees?

Subsidised lunch / break fast
Spot rewards for good work it could be in form of silver coin, movie tickets, or any gift item which u can store and keep with u
Free transport / Pass /
Mobile reimbursement - corporate plans
Birthday celebration : one day of the month to celebrate birthdays of all whose birthday falls on that day. Depending on size of com. you could give a greeting card and small gift to all employees
if an employee overstayed for work when they cross x no. of hours allow them to have some snacks ( to define limit )
employee of the qtr or month : through suggestions from all ( to keep a drop box where all employees through a secret ballot can vote for the employee of the month or qtr.
Monitary
Department's can be given a team task and give them some amt towards achievement of those task ( amt. depends on your HR budget ) to be realsed once within 6 months

Bonus for Software Engineers shld be paid on project based objectives (timely completion, compliance of project budget, quality of deliverables, people management and compliance to project related skills etc). The objectives should be well defined and may vary from one role to another.
