During notice period, if employer asks the employee to leave earlier than his notice period ends, should he pay for the entire notice period duration?
Example- Organisation has 2 months notice period. Mr.A resigns and wishes to serve entire notice period. But organisation tells him that we dont need you to serve entire notice period, you can leave after completing 20 days of notice.

In this situation, shall the organisation pay him the salary of entire 2 months or just for the 20 days of notice served?

I understand that if Mr.A requests for early relieving then he must be paid only till the date he serves notice. But need to know what if the organisation asks him to leave early?

Thanks,

If the employee is ready to serve the notice period but the employer is relieving the employee earlier, the salary computed for the notice period remaining should be paid to the employee as notice pay.
