For closure under chapter VB of I. D. Act, to decide the strength of workers, Kindly clarify whether employees working as supervisors or managers can be included while counting number of workmen ?

For the purposes of lay off, retrenchment and closure, the total no of employees falling within the ambit of the definition clause of ' workman' u/s 2(s) of the IDA,1947 find place on the rolls of the industrial establishment shall be computed on an average basis during the preceding 12 months period.
It implies that though falling under the definition of workman, temporary, casual or contract labor shall not be included for the calculation.
