Emotion is any agitation or disturbance of mind, feeling, passion, or any vehement or excited mental state. There are hundreds of emotions with their blends and variations.
Distortions Within
• Anger – Fury, outrage, animosity, irritability, etc.
• Sadness – Sorrow, grief, gloom, loneliness, dejection, etc.
• Fear – Anxiety, concern, edginess, terror, etc.
• Enjoyment – Happiness, relief, thrill, rapture, satisfaction, etc.
• Love – Acceptance, trust, kindness, devotion, etc.
• Surprise – Shock, amazement, wonder, etc.
Aspects to Develop / Enhance
1. Self-Awareness – Observing yourself; building a vocabulary for feelings.
2. Personal Decision-Making – Examining your actions and knowing their consequences.
3. Managing Self – Finding ways to handle fears, anxieties, and sadness.
4. Handling Stress – Value of exercise, guided imagery, relaxation, etc.
5. Empathy – Understanding others' feelings and appreciating the differences.
6. Self-Acceptance – Seeing yourself in a positive light; being able to laugh at yourself at times.

• Prayer/meditation helps unburden many emotional imbalances.
