HI All,
I have just now registered into this site so first I would like to introduce myself.
I am Amrita. I have been associated with NGOs (A non-profitable Organisation who works in the community for a cause like- education, health, women empowerment, entrepreneurship etc.) for approx. 3 years with a degree in “Human Development”. U might have heard of this degree for d first time so would like to elaborate a bit about it. Human Development is a course where we learn about the life span of an individual, Child and Human development theories, Counselling, Psychological theories, Multicultural perspective of development and similar more courses. This subject gives us a perspective to understand that how different enduring experience, past and changing environment affect the life of an individual.
In my 3 years of career I have been dealing with people from varied background like- Community people, medical officials, Gov. Ppl, Program officers, country directors etc. Because of which I think I have gained skills of managing people. I am a techno savvy person. I have sound knowledge of research and training.
Now due to some reasons I want to move to HR and for the same I am planning to do PGDHRM course from SIBM, mostly. Right now I am planning to fetch an entry/mid level HR job to get hands on experience while getting a diploma certification.
Friends I need your suggestions as in do you think that with the kind of experience I have I would be able to get a job in any Corporate at this point of time? Is there any company who entertain such people without any degree and experience in HR? If you can suggest me any site where I can search for HR job?
Any kind of help would be great.
Thanks and have a great day!!!
Amrita.

Greetings of the day
Hello Amrita,
First I would like to say thanks to you for joining us and we are grateful to have you here.
Second, I am well aware of this degree and profession and I appreciate for your work and understanding that you have earned during and respect the decision to move into CORE HR.
Here one thing i wanna let you know that you must have to go for PGDHRM which will give you an option to enter the corporate world as you required. We all know that HR work and style of corporate sector is totally different then other. Base can remain the same but style of work, atmosphere/culture creates big difference today. Yes it is acceptable that you don’t have work experience on the functions of Human Resource. So far, the details about you and your experience you have shared with us says that you have no experience with HR functions like Wages & Compensation (Salary, ESIC, EPF etc), T&D and other, therefore, it is really important for you to earn these basic knowledge to make a good start.
PGDHRM will give you the basic knowledge and boost your confidence but along with your study you have to work hard to get knowledge of the Functions of HR, Labour Law Acts and rules and all other conditions.
Coming back to the point and before saying much about it, I would like to say that you must go for PGDHRM hence you have to give your 200% at every step which is really important for you.
