Dear Deepthi
HR is a bridge between employees and the management and it has to fulfil the organisational goal with the available resource and hence it is not fair to judge on whom it has to support. It is neutral dept. and has to handle the situations and get things done in unbiassed manner.

HR is in between, stoop a bit either ways...HR is in trouble.
HR has to balance, HR has to have the quality to put forth..any utmost unpleasant matter, any view, any situation..either to the managemnet or to the employees in a positive manner....
Its is a very difficult position, its a HOT seat.......
No preferences, no partiality, no taking sides.
be where you are, try to strike a balance.

HR does anything to save their own HEAD. I hope I made it clear, a boat sails along the wind, if it sails against the wind, it will drown, same is the case with HR.

Hi Deepthi,
Well that is a very difficult situation but it's very easy to handle, just try to be friends with that senior and try to discuss issues which you think should be rectified but never ever let the senior feel that you are trying to counsel him and if the person is your immediate boss then do whatever the boss says whether it's wrong or has no results; first get into his good books then at times try to talk things out for example i have got this idea that this thing should be done this way and ask him what do you think? In this way you will gain trust and then things will go they way you want themto be but this will take a little time, so be relaxed and not to worry

Hi, Is the inefficient person in HR department? If not how do you say you are junior? Little more details will help us give an advice. Jayashree

Deepthi,
Seniors are sometimes equivalent to Boss.
Better let them be inefficient, why bother. Bothering may put you in trouble unless you have strong contacts in Management. What if the Senior is inefficient but has strong management reference.
Better lets take our pay and do the work, let the seniors go to hell, I am just advising you, in case the senior feels offended, and makes life hell for u, as i dont know exact nature of the senior about whom ur talking, better tell me their name.

I think there should be two groups of HRs:
1. For the Employee refernce- any employee can come to them, whether its Boss or a Junior level person and discuss any kinda problem.
2. For the Management: they should help and guide management to create differnet policies for employee thinking for the benifit of comapany as a goal.
