Dear Sir/Madam,
Please advise if an employee absconds from the job without serving any notice period and without completing a handover of the charge then what actions can we take against this practice. One employee from our company absconded from the job on the very third day after getting his salary credited to his account. He was not an EPF member and hence we cannot even try to warn him of that nor we can undo the salary credited to his account. We also emailed him warnings to come back and at least hand over his responsibilities to some other employee before leaving the job but he didn't turn up. We also warned him about the non-issuance of his relieving letter and experience letter, but he did not turn up. What precautions as an employer, can we take to avoid such situations to happen in future?

Thank you .

Hi

It has become practice among many employees to abscond without information after salary credit. Only thing you can do is to hold his FFS and relieving letter. Also in case of future BGV can share about his not reporting without information.

If the not reporting cases numbers are on the higher you need to identify the root cause in terms of environment issue or salary issue.
