Dear Seniors, Wants to ask - for claiming ESI benefits, an employee has to work for how many days in a month?
From India, Pune
Medical benefits, ie, medical facility through dispensaries and hospitals of ESIC, will be available from day one of his registration. For cash benefits, sickness benefits under which leave is granted and the cash equivalent is paid by the ESIC, the employee should have completed at least 9 months contribution with at least 78 days' contribution during the said period. It is actually available during the benefit period corresponding to the contribution period. maternity benefit is also available if the woman employee has contributed at least for 70 days in the two contribution periods preceding the date of delivery.

There are two contribution periods, ie, April to September and October to March and the corresponding benefit periods are July of the following year to December and January of the following year to June.

if a person works for part time 15 days only , is he or she will get all the ESI benefits?
From India, Pune
This can be interpreted as 15 days in a month. If so, yes he will get the benefits. If the total of such days exceed 80 during two contribution periods of six months each, he will also be eligible to sickness/ cash benefits.
