Respected Sir,

After 11 years of service in a company, I resigned and got my PF cleared. When I went to the PF office to check on my Pension certificate, I was told they had couriered the same, but I did not receive it. I think it must have been lost in transit. Now I am working with another firm with a new PF account. My query is how my old pension certificate and the current pension account will merge when I attain the age of 58. Both PF offices/locations are different but in the same state. What should I do? Please advise.

Dear Anita,

Firstly, I apologize for the inconvenience you've faced regarding your Pension Certificate. Here's how you can proceed:

1. 🗝 Apply for a duplicate Pension Certificate: You can approach the EPF office where your pension account was maintained and request a duplicate certificate. You would need to provide them with your Pension Account Number and submit a written application explaining the situation.

2. 🔁 Linking Old Pension Account with New PF Account: This can be done online through the Unified Member Portal. Here are the steps:
- Log into the Unified Member Portal using your UAN and password.
- Go to the 'Service' menu and select 'One Member - One EPF Account (Transfer Request)'.
- Verify your personal information and PF account for present employment.
- After verification, you can provide details of your previous EPF account which you wish to merge with the current one.

3. 🈶 Communication with EPF Office: Keep in touch with your respective EPF offices (old and new) to confirm the process has been completed.

Please note that as per the Indian labor laws, it's important to merge all your PF accounts to ensure that you get a combined pension after retirement.

Please do not worry about the locations of the PF offices being different. The process for merging is the same across India, and it can be done online, making the physical location irrelevant.

However, remember that you can only transfer your pension account if you have not withdrawn your pension amount from the old PF account.

I hope this helps you. In case you encounter any issues, don't hesitate to get back to us.

🍀 Good luck with your process!
