Hi,

We are contractor having a civil construction project in Tamil Nadu state and we employed Interstate Migrant worker for work. So we have to take the The Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1979 license . can you suggest that is there is any need of taking The Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970.

Thanks

Dear Kamalnegi,

You have to take the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970 because you are a contractor.

Further, you need to take the Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1979 license for engagement of 10 or more workmen from other state than of Tamil Nadu state.
