If the nominee is a minor, it is better for you to deposit the gratuity with the Controlling Authority under the Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972 for disbursement. They will call the nominee to be present with any guardian and deposit the amount with a nationalised bank for release after the nominee attains majority.
