Dear All, We are manufacturing of confectionery and registered in ESI and PF as a proprietary firm.
now, we have started another unit and try to register under ESI and PF with the same PAN as we are a proprietary firm.
ESI allotted code number but EPF is showing a message that PAN is already linked to another establishment.
Can anybody please guide me on how to register under EPF. Thanking you.

Hi Hanuma,
Pl.provide some more details -
Have registered the second unit in the same name or different name. Is't your branch dealing in the same business?
Both are in the same place?
How about your GST, PT registrations?
Are you accounting & assessing transactions in the one & only firm/ IT returns?

Understood that GST shall be different for other branches under the same regd.name, PAN, being the same as Prop.firm.

I think you being a proprietorship firm will not be allotted more than one PAN. And having opened more than one unit you can file one consolidated A/cs & IT Returns as on Assessee based on one PAN. Similarly EPF also can be in similar system. Since UAN has been introduced with a view to cover all transactions of an employee under one EPF/UAN A/c where he shifts and whoever different employer they could be. In your case also there is a possibility that one employee can be transferred to your other units/ branches anytime. This sort of multiple job changes was resulting in having multiple EPF accounts being opened, one with each employer. Hence, with the UAN, each EPFO member can consolidate multiple accounts into one single account. Now whenever an employee transferred from one Br. to other Br.he/she will be able to see their passbook statement or PF transactions at the same place based on UAN details.

So far as remittances & filing returns etc. for EPF concerned, EPFO has given certain guidelines which is attached for your ref.& guidance. I hope this details should help you to sort out the issues.
