This is Karthikeyan from XXX Softwares. I have been running a software company for the past 3 years. One of our company employees suddenly left and is now asking for salary and an experience letter. However, he did not complete the assigned project within the given time. He informed us abruptly that he has joined another company and when questioned about the project completion, he showed no concern.
What should I do? Please provide me with suggestions.

Have you issued the appointment letter to the employee in question? If yes, then what are the terms of the separation? What is the length of the notice period?
Please issue the letter to the employee stating that he has to complete the notice period. Otherwise, it will be considered as abandonment of the employment, and appropriate disciplinary action will be initiated for the abandonment.
