I work for a training company that is looking at selling Soft skills training to the healthcare sector in Kenya. We are looking at getting a trainer from outside.. how viable would that be? Any pointers as to where to start?

Dear friend,
Viability of hiring a trainer from outside depends on your paying capacity. However, we need clarification on the term "hiring from outside". Do you mean to say hiring an external trainer rather than keeping them on your company's roll? Or do you mean to say that you would like to hire from some another city or even country?
Since you are from a company that sells soft skills training, much depends on the paying capacity of your client. You might hire world's best trainer but your clients should be willing to avail of their services. Therefore, this decision depends on the type and quality of your customers. How to satisfy or delight the customers but by managing the operational cost is always a challenge in any business and yours is no exception.
Business grows when the business owner is able to provide evidence of the benefits that past customers or clients accrued by availing of his/her services. Therefore, larger question is whether you have such proof, be it by having trainers' on your company roll or hiring from outside.

Dear Dinesh,
Thanks so much for your insight. I meant hiring a trainer from outside the country. We are in the process of selling our soft skills courses to the healthcare sector in Kenya, this sector has had alot of negative reviews on the hospital staff. We however noted that we have only few soft skill trainers in the country that have trained in the healthcare sector, hence our thinking about getting a trainer from outside.
