I work for a company covered under the Maharashtra Shops & Establishments Act.
I would appreciate it a lot if someone could help me with a query related to out station travel.
I was recently required to travel out of station on duty.
I started my journey at 2:30am via company paid transport & took a flight.Upon landing I reported to work in the city I had to work.
My day finished at 6:30pm post which I was accomodated in a hotel.
My query is ,given that travel & work lasted from 2:30am upto 6:30pm on the same day , does the travel time + work time generate a compensatory off or any other leave given that the entire streach was 16 hours continuosly ?

Dear ANNONYMOUS Friend,
Today I am in different mood to answer.
I would like to advise you to restrict your working hours even during your out station, including travel time. It is against the Law. There is no provision in S&E Act or any other Act, of Compensatory Off or any other leave for your travel time and work time outstation.
Please be in mind, certain issues are sorted out by talking with the boss or the employer rather than looking into the Law.
