Please let me know what are the powers of union leader, Please don’t refer to trade union act 1926
From India, Hyderabad
The power of a trade union leader, is his ability to address all the matters related to the members of his union. and also to educate his followers about the reality. and also avoid the multiplicity of the trade unions by improving the intra-human relationship, because the collective bargaining power is inversely proportional to the number of trade unions in an establishment.

The duties, responsibility and authority comes as per the position held by a man in an organisation. The union leader is nothing than a "common man" if he is taken out of the "Union".
The power of a person depends upon his followers, his acess to influential people, connectivity with political parties and other institutions. In general some people try to utilise all these to show others, how powerful he is.

Dear colleague,
By 'union leader'. if you are referring to the non- employee outsider, he can wield tremendous powers from holding negotiations, disrupting production, inciting workers for violence , fight court matters to name a few. It differs from leader to leader but has powers to mar or make the organisation depending on the political cap he wears.

It is impossible that a Union Leader can have any POWER. He has only duties and responsibilities, and may be, some limited rights in order to carry out and accomplish those duties and responsibilities.
