Hello Seniors / Colleagues,
Want to know, can we give C Off in lieu of over time. My plant is running in two shift i.e. 6am to 2pm (A Shift) & 2pm to 10pm (B Shift) for six days in week. I want to run my plant on every Thursday & Friday in two shifts i.e. 6am to 6pm & 6pm to 6am. And in lieu of this, we are planning to Off on Saturday and Sunday is our routine Off.
We we do this, is it legally / compliance wise ok.
Regards
Rohit

Dear Rohit,
Pl go through the provisions of sec.59 of the Factories Act,1948. The Act specifically provides for payment of wages for overtime work at twice the rate of ordinary wages. If so how would you settle for C-Off instead of O.T wages - that too at that of normal off? When the Act prescribes a particular mode of compliance, you can not do it otherwise.
