While standard shift time is 8 hours, the law says that anyone working more than 9 hours a day is entitled to overtime. That means your employer is allowed to have a 9'hour work time. Further, the work hours excludes any breaks. So if you have 30 min lunch time, your working hours is actually 9 hours.
In any case, what do you mean by how it could be changed ?
Go and tell your employer that he is out of line with the law. Tell him to reduce the work hours. Or you can go and complain to the labour commissioner.
Of course, in either case, the first thing the employer will do is to terminate your services. So you better be ready for that.

Sir, Is the allowed work hours per day 8 hours excluding break or 9 hours without the breaks ? I think the acts allow 9 hours per day.
