Respected forum members
I am working in MNC as a middle level management cadre.company is in diversified business where job seekers get job easily but couldnot find job easily outside if they want to get job change.
since company business was good and four units(a,b,c,d ) were in operation.but due to lack in supervision on market scenario business fall down. For same reason as per top management decision one unit (A) successfully closed after transfer of company employees to other unit (B).Now they want to close down the operation of B.some of employees have been transfered to unit C.Now myself and my collegues (8 to 10 nos) we are working in unit B have been suffering from torture and mental harrassment by unit head and company directors about irrelevant issues.they are telling us to find out another job quickly as unit will be get close very soon and there will not be any chance to serve more for same company.we all are in tension to get suitable opportunity in market and trying hardly.May be upto closer some of us or myself unable to get suitable job then what we could do against management .Previously i was in big branded company and joined here just 9 month before with good salary.if this company is behaving like this,it doesnt means they have spoiled my carrier ?? if they dont have vision to grow more then why they recruited us??
In this scenario pl.help to overcome and also suggest what legal action may be possible to take against management.
Thanks in advance.

Dear Ameya, Since you were in middle management you are not covered under ID Act but only under State shops and establishment Act. The relief can sought under the said Act.

Dear Ameya,

You have sought advice from seniors. Therefore, be prepared to accept it humbly.

Your company is not doing well. It is unfortunate that sooner you joined, it went into financial doldrums. Calm down and start searching for the job vigorously. At this stage, what you need to maintain is continuity in career. Therefore, instead of getting distraught, write down your strengths/weaknesses. Find out how can you encash on your strengths. While searching new job find out whether it is possible to search something that is allied to your profession.

Last but not the least, your post does not reflect your status of "middle level management cadre". Professionalism lies in maintaining self-composure in the face of adversity. Your problem is that your mind has been conditioned to MNC environment. Your emotional turmoil is out of inability to be into the same conditioned environment. But then forever, how can you expect smooth sail of your career's boat? Some time one has to face rough weather. Right now you are facing it. This is the test of your navigation skills.

Instead of waiting for nine months to complete, in the first 2-3 months itself if you had read writing on the wall, you would not have been in the present situation.

Do SWOT Analysis of your career. Make a career plan. You may upload it here and invite suggestions from the seniors. Trust me, some good suggestion will always come from this forum.

All the best!

Managing transition during the uncertain times is where our personal leadership lies. Please do not consider the harassment from your reporting managers as an hassle but a sign and protection from something lot bigger. Imagine what if your managers remain sweet to you all, lying about the situation and suddenly the firm close down one day!

Dinesh have given you a sound advice. Look for a job and move out of the role, before they eliminate your role.

You have already worked with a great brand. Hence , you are established as a talent in the job market.

Connect with your former employer and initiate a re-hire. They might not be able to give you your previously held role back or match the salary that you are drawing now. However, they will offer you a continuity in your career.

In case they are not able to hire you, ask for recommendations and referral to companies where they can help you apply.

Shift your focus from what is happening at your workplace to a new career . Stay calm and remain as supportive a you can. This is not to help anyone else but yourself. When you decide not to fall weak in challenging times, you grow stronger.

Your reporting managers and the business owner are as troubled as you are. Your transition is still easy, theirs is not! You shifting out of a firm that is failing to perform in nine months will raise a lot lesser question to your credibility than them. Remain supportive and make them your mentors during the transition. Their words of recommendation will help you build your credibility with your next employer.

Don't stay attached to any brand, salary , designation or any other pretensions. Just stay focussed on continuity . If you have a job when you move out of this firm , you can always build your career .

In fact help your colleagues plan a career. Helping others when you face a challenge, will help you identify strengths you never knew you had.

No matter how much it pushes you, just refuse to believe you can't find a job. You will and stay focussed on it.

Wishing you all the best!

Dear Ameya9898,

In fact this thread is concluded on your acceptance of advise as given by our learned senior members Dinesh Divekar and (Cite Contribution).

Tell you the fact, I have not read your post but I read the responses by both the above said learned senior members fully. While endorsing them I would like to add one thing here that any relationship is based on love between both the parties and when there is no love one should leave the other.

I would also like to give some tips / quotes here which may help you and all the viewers. The said tips / quotes are repeated in this forum by me.

* Be positive always.

* Have your Vision and Goals clear. Write it down and read it daily.

* Take calculated risk in life. If you win, you can lead. And if you loose, you can guide.

* Believe that your profession is the greatest profession in the world. You have to put your heart in the profession and the profession in your heart.

* When you truly believe that you deserve Success, your mind will automatically generate the ways to achieve it.

* One who wins without problem, it is just a Victory. But when one who wins with lot of troubles, that is a History. Create History : Hitler.

* One can never start new chapter in his life, if he is too busy in re-reading his earlier chapters.

* Always forget and forgive your enemies. Your mind will be revenge free. This will help you in achieving the Vision and Goal.

* Always be happy for no reason. You will be a successful person definitely.

ALL THE BEST.

Dear Ameya,

There is always benefit of education, experience and guidance to all of us. Company is closing its business but not future of employees and their families.

You have had all three eegNONETHELESS STRENGTH THAT YOU CAME UP FOR OUR VIEWS.Its not a small thing.

Today also, there are plenty of jobs in IT sectors. No one should have reservations about any particular company's way of doing business and specifically in physical conditions like harassment or tortures if someone conditioned. As HR professional, smell before whether you are safe or signal is likely to make you feel bad and atmosphere prevailing does not allow to get longer strides.Think early 80 when it was textile recession, late eighties engineering recession, early 2000 auto and from 2012 end till today in almost all areas excepting FMCG , IT, BFSI, Health and Insurance due to recession how many millions of people across globe have lost and found jobs. Still India is scaling high in labour market. Seniors can also not hit your career. For illustration, most seniors have serious threats from their deputees , so one quits to do justice for himself. So, Cheer up, see and use job portals, LinkedIn , Facebook and CiteHR and make best use of this occasion.

Best wishes,
