Dear Members,
I would like to enquire that Can company relocate anyone to the other location without assigning him any project since he joins. My friend is placed in top brand MNC and its been 2 months he joined the organization and didn’t get any project till yet.
Now he got an email notification from his Manager to apply for internal job postings to relocate himself to other cities on the same salary.
He doesn’t have any problem with relocation but remuneration is a bit constrain as he is working in his home town and can’t relocate on the same salary.
Can anyone suggest me what to do in this.
Can company ask him to leave if he will not get any project in the local area .

firstly look into his appointment letter whether this clause is mentioned or not?? If yes he have to do needful in vice-versa case he can go in labour court.

Dear Nancy,
This is in addition to what AJ Joshi has suggested.
Every new situation creates a room for negotiation. Let your friend calculate how much additional financial burden he may have to incur after posting. Let him ask for increase in his remuneration. No authority will accept this readily. For this he has to follow up or escalate it to the higher authorities. This is where his negotiation skills come handy.
As this posting is for company requirement, he is eligible for the relocation allowance.
Lastly, I do not recommend approaching labour court as suggested by AJ Joshi. Incensed at litigation, what if company removes him by paying notice period and appoints a new person? He has just completed two months in new company. It would not be fair on his part to start tenure on bitter note.

Dear Nancy,
Mr.Dinesh has given you a suitable suggestion. Why You should start a career with a litigation in mind. Afterall you are yet to commence a meaningful performance in this co. as such you'll have nothing to mention to boast of in your CV about this stint. Therefore you should talk to the concerned first, ascertain their views and you'll know what is in store for you. What's not clear to me is - Are they expect you to "reapply internally" to your Manager ? I couldn't guess the intricacies involved in this process. Debate on this aspect and come to a conclusion. If you are really perturbed, look out for other suitable positions. Nevertheless, rooting firmly in the Home Town appears a hard bargain which option you may have to rethink. A better sense should prevail friend.

Dear colleague,

As there is no work for last two months, your friend should search for another job.

As the company could not provide assignments for 2 months and evidently there will be same situations forthwith also, please appreciate your friend , luck man is advised by his kind manager to apply for internal job posting-IRS.Its ethical practice, normally a few people are there to support.

ITS FAIR OPPORTUNITY, ONE SHOULD APPRECIATE IN RIGHT EARNEST.

In case manager smells any negative attempt in your friend's mind, his probation period will be ending with 24 hrs notice without any money.With acceptance of another posting outside hometown, your friend should happily catch job and possibly , cost of relocation have been also possibly taken account in the managers consideration (as you have assumed many things against / negative) or that will happen at later stage, which should not be in mind of your friend now.

Please advise him to respect situation with grace and apply and abide by his manager's decision .
