Words are like arrow shot from a bow, once released will never come back ,so before shooting.. think twice!

Deepali, Nice one. Thanks. I had heard one equally nice one: "It’s better to keep your mouth shut and let people suspect you are dumb than to open the mouth and remove all doubts!" Shreyas

Hello Deeply:
Good collection of words of wisdom about how to use words. It reminds me of a Rule I read about what one should speak. It was part of a yoga class. Its meaning is that one should follow the golden rule for what one speaks. And the rule is that before you say anything, you should check if it passes the three criteria:
Is it the truth?
Is it pleasing, ie won't offend the listener?, and
Is is beneficial to the listener?
Speak only that which satisfies all three criteria.

Hello Deepali:
In one of our Sanskrit texts, it is said that what we say should satisfy at least one of the following three requirements:
It is the truth.
It is beneficial to the listener.
It is pleasing.
In Rotary also we have use a 4-way test of what we say and do. It goes like this:
"Of the things we think, say or do:
1. Is it the Truth?
2. Is it Fair to all concerned?
3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?"
I think both the above are in line with your thoughts. So, good thinking. Thanks and Keep posting.
