Gratuity is accumulated amount which we receive from principle employer after the resigning from the company.
But your working period should be not less than 5 year.
According to you, you have worked for 8 years then you will receive the amount is:
Basic pay/26*15* No. of years
Seniors please confirm if I am not wrong.

Dear sir,
As Gratuity rules you get the amount as below calculation:
Basic ppay
Number of working days ( 26 days)
half month salary (15 days)
Year of service (8 years as you mentioned)
Any person can eligible for gratuity, if he/her works more than 4 years 10 months 11 days. So, now you are eligible for gratuity.

Mr. Rohan Same Thing which I have mentioned there, you also repeated the same........I asked there correct me if I am wrong.......
MR. Shama ji,
Definitely the person will be eligible for gratuity. Because he has worked for 4 years 10 months and 11 days and that will be counted as 5 years.
But gratuity is calculated on where a person works for 240 days in a year and 5 days in week. So, in 5 years he has to work for 1200 days.
And according to you he has worked for 4 years 10 months and 11 days so he is definitely eligible for gratuity.

Dear All,
Pl.go thro' all the related links provided on your screen, you will get more than enough materials. And pl.note gratuity becomes due only when an employee is leaving the employer after completion of a minimum qualifying service of 4 yrs+ 240 days in the fifth year.
