Hi Uma,
In most of the organizations, only 1 CL per month is allowed for the probationary employees.
His earned leave gets accumulated till the employee gets confirmed and after that only he can avail the leave.
till than more that 1 leave, it is counted as LWP.

Hi Uma, As far as I know no paid leaves are allowed during probation period. Employees are allowed to take paid leave only after confirmation.

Hello Uma,
Both the options ( either one day per month OR no leaves ) exist in the Industry.
One point to be borne in mind is that during confirmation of an employee in probation,
his attendance also plays an important role.
Hence restricting the leaves provided during probation would be helpful.

Uma.
You have not mentioned the type of your Co.If it is a factory one will be eligible for EL only on completion of 240 days in previous year. The FA is silent about other leaves which depends on Co policy. If it is a commercial establishment give the leaves as per the Shops and Commercial Est: Act of your state.

For trainees there is no question of leave since they are not your employees and for them it is considered as - OFF, subject to approval of their supervisor etc.

Often companies offer only a CL per month to the employees who are on probation and they can avail earned leave only when they are confirmed. However, in case they take more than a leave in a month it will be counted as LWP- leave without pay. I think you should follow the same.
You can easily mange leaves of employee if you are using some advance payroll software like SaralPayroll as it has already a leave management module in the software.

hello uma it depends upon ones company\'s policy.if it is factory, as per factory act, every twenty days of continuous working one day is credited to ones\' paid leave account that means one has to earn for availing leave during their tenure even when they are on probation.in addition one can avail cl as per company\'s policy on proportionate basis as per the joining dt in a calendar year.hope it is clear on the subject.
thanks and regards
