Hi,
I have recently been asked to create a new development framework that will address the development needs of all managers across our organisation. Currently we are struggling to find talent in house and therefore want to build something that will help us develop people in house.
I have already built a programme to develop aspiring team leaders and this has be a huge success but other than a few in house courses we’ve don’t really have a framework that supports managers at all levels.
I was therefore wondering if anyone would be willing to share ideas on how their organisation develops managers at all levels.
Any thoughts or suggestions or examples of management development frameworks would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Kie,
Have you tried Crestcom they provide excellent training for Manger development. Their comprehensive training series is "The Bullet Proof Manager".
The series contains 24 topics, I have participated in this training series and found it very interesting and helpful in growing as a manager.

Dear Kie,
You need to do two things, one is to start developing career plan for every individual and second is start major OD initiative i.e. "Mentoring" in your company. However, both the interventions requires tremendous maturity and it is not novice's play.

For Ronald: - I do not know about your company however, as far as one of my clients is concerned, they implemented this course. Nevertheless, they could not measure ROI on this training course. Before investing our hard-earned financial resources, we should be clear about its ROI. Yes, individual manager may get benefited but what we want is organisational benefits since it is organisation that pays for this course.

Thank you both for the replies it very much appreciated.
It's not so much that I need someone to deliver the training. I have designed and delivered copious management & leadership sessions at all levels over the years and I am fine with this.
It’s just that I want some ideas about ways that others do it. For example;
• Do they use a tier structure to develop their managers where all managers progress through various modules (e.g. bronze, silver, gold and platinum)
• Use a hierarchal structure only aimed at a specific level e.g. at the moment we have courses for team leaders, courses for managers and courses for senior managers
