Hey seniors,
My company has around 200 employees. I recently joined this unit and made ID cards for them. Can you please suggest if I need to put a rubber stamp of the company as well, as it already contains the company name, address, and issuing authority signature?
Please help.

Dear Ms. Kusum,
As a part of the process, it is obviously mandatory to issue an employee identification card for the purpose of allowing companies to utilize their identity-checking skills to guard against human resources issues. When dealing with around 200 employees, it is always recommended to consider electronic badging methods or a biometric system. This approach eliminates barriers and helps in ensuring there are "Zero" issues in monitoring any employee's data. In today's IT world, where Identity Theft is quite common, electronic ID badges (where employee information is encoded on the magnetic band) are replacing manual processes. These badges can also contain emergency phone numbers and corporate mission statements.
It is advisable to implement strategies that streamline processes rather than adding unnecessary burdens at the end of the workflow.
Thank you.

Dear Kusum,
You have to put the rubber stamp in a way that it covers a small part of the photograph, preferably the right bottom corner. This will prevent anyone from replacing the photograph. Also, there should be a signature - either HR, Admin Head, or Security in charge - on the ID card. What Ms. Sharmila has suggested is good; if your company has budgeted for the expenses, it can be implemented.
Warm regards.

Employee picture, name, designation, permanent address with phone number on the opposite page, along with rules, instructions, and company-authorized signature. By following these instructions, you will receive a nice ID card. Thank you.

Dear Kusum,
I don't think that if you mentioned the logo of companies then there is any need for a stamp. However, in that ID card, you need to mention their Emergency Contact Details and their blood group, which is very necessary for any company. Also, mention the address of the company.

It is not necessary to stamp ID Cards. While preparing the card, the identity and all credentials are verified and the same is printed in the card.

Dear Kusum,
A rubber stamp is not required on a laminated ID card. Only the logo of the company, the name of the employee, designation, department, blood group, and phone number should be mentioned. If the card is made of paper, you can use a stamp or not. However, in the case of a laminated card, you can use it for biometric purposes. It reduces time and helps in time office management.

Dear Kusum,
The photograph of the holder must be stamped in such a way that half should be on the photograph and the rest should be on the ID Card. If the photograph is replaced, tampering with the ID Card will be easily detected.
Thanks,

A common fallacy that people have, perpetuated by our government, is that a rubber stamp makes a document authentic. It costs Rs. 100 to make a duplicate stamp. If someone were to commit fraud of any kind, an extra Rs. 100 to be spent is small change.
The intended purpose of the ID card is going to drive its structure. If it's only internal, then even without a rubber stamp, it can be authenticated (by signature, photo, etc). One of our clients has a barcode printed on the ID card. The guard scans the barcode, and the original data, including the photo, appears on the screen, which needs to match the photo on the card and in person. If security is not a big issue, then such an elaborate arrangement is not necessary.
If the idea is to have it as proof of ID for a third party, the requirements need to be more stringent.
To answer your original question: a rubber stamp actually adds nothing, especially in the case of laminated or preprinted cards.

Yes it is necessary to put stamp to avoid misuse of it. Otherwise anyone can make duplicate card and use it
