Hi All,
I am working as an HR Executive in a software company in bangalore for the last eight months. I have finished my MBA(HR & Mktg) from a well reputed college in Hyderabad.
Here the problem is while joining in this company my HR Mgr promised me a salary hike after 3 months from the day of my joining (orally). When I have asked him for hike after 3 months he always responded saying he has to speak to my CEO. After asking several times one day he turned up saying we can't pay more than what they are giving then.
Finally I have decided to quit the Company and I got a couple of opportunities too then I sent him a resignation mial.
After sending that mail my HR Mgr desparately called me to speak and he left the salary expectation to me. Since I had personal interest in that profile I have asked him a reasonable hike as per market value.
I am happy with that and since then he has given me some special resposibilites to me and even I was doing those tasks perfectly with out any failure.
Two months later today surprisingly I got a resignation acceptence mail from him responding to the mail which I sent to him two months back. I really shocked and soon after i got the mail even from my CEO saying...
"Thank you for all your help. Acceptance of your resignation is definitely not because of your performance but the project we were working on did not take off. We wanted to put you in that new project. Wish you good luck. Hope we get an opportunity to hire you again."
I responded back to them in a polite way to talk to them personally.
My HR Mgr called him to his cabin and we had a discussion. He says their cost centre is not permitting that what ever they are offering to me. He wanted me to speack even with CEO. He doesnt want me to quit but he says he can't pay that much.
My HR Mgr was from B.Tech back ground and now both of us getting the same pay. I thought that could be one of the reasons why he is little jelous about me.
My CEO and HR Mgr both are good friends. Dafenately they don't want me to quit.
Please suggest me what should I do now. :?

Thanks & Regards,
Kalyan. :D

If you have decided to quit the org. means.........quit. or stick with them with out making any confusion.
if u feel u r working good and they are not appraised properly......you have to quit.

If you have got back your resignation before acceptance, acceptance mail sent by the HR mgr would not be valid. Even if you have got back your resignation by word of mouth, you are on to the safer side.
Management should not take advantage of the suitations to send off an employee. Even if they decide to not to have you in rolls, they can adopt a different way by giving a notice of layoff with notice period with 3 months salary as a compensation to help you out in a layoff situation. You are eligible to get a proper relieving letters based on the layoff play.
Don't work in such companies which do not have any concern for its employees , Even if you continue to work there, it will only be a waste of time and energy. Work for those who need your service, appreciate it and compensate for the work you have done. After all this not the only company inthe world. You have 1000's of opportunities that will come your way. All the Best.
thanks

Hi Kalyan,
Its not suggestable to continue such a companies.. But, i think you didnot have any offer in your hand now.. so, just wait for some time in the same company (with same compensation) upto get GOOd offer.. Then you leave the company..
Its my view.. I cant say you do the same..
But, think yourself and take a right decission.
All the best..

HI Varanasi..
This a soup you have created for yourself.
I aslo agree with most of my freinds here, that the organizations i.e. your Hr Mgr. and CEO have acted in an unjustifieable way towards you.
what you could do are the following
1) As for a compensation as per the INDUSTRIAL EMPLOYMENT
(STANDING ORDERS) ACT, 1946 & THE RULES
2) Leave the company immediately with your head held high and a generous reference
3) Stick with the company and continue to get paid peanuts and live under the wrath of your HR mgr.
The choice is yours

Hi Ken,
Thanks for your valuable suggestion.
When I had some opportunities they wanted my services. Still they want my services with less pay than what they are giving now. since they have very good impression on me I never expected such a ridiculous response after 2 months. Thats what my HR Mgr wants from me. How it can be possible.
Any more suggestions pls do post here.

Hi,
I think Ken is right
Don't worry...there are plenty of opportunities for HR professionals
Don't spoil your career with a company where proper performance systems are not in place
best of luck

Hi,
This is only a tactful things applied on u....If ur HR mgr is so supportive he would have support you inspite of creating such a puzzling situation for you.....
Personally I feel ur company should clear in their mind whether they need employee in contract basis or permanant basic......
This is not making any sence for working over there....coz now they dont have the projects now and more over they want to put u in a lesser ctc..
Suggestion from my side:
1.If u r a confirmed employee ask them to serve u a notice period or give u the amt in lieu of..i think sth must have written in ur appointment letter...
2.stick to that company unless u wont collect any good offers....
3.be soft towards ur company and ask wat u need....dont use any harsh word as u r now in a needy position....
4..left the company if u think u r loosing ur values.....the whole world is at ur reach...u can get more good job...Be confident....
May god give u all the success and happiness in ur life..All the best.....
