I'm working in Top MNC BPO company. Final appraisal is done and rating is given to me which I dont agree with. In our portal my manager will give comments and only when i agree it will be completed. Can I disagree without closing it. Is there any policy what will happen if employee dont agree for the rating ?

Dear Teen Squash,
Could you let us know what does your company policy say about it? Normally, if an employee disagrees with any part of their evaluation they could put forward a request for reconsideration. This is also followed in my organisation. The process for re-consideration is thoroughly explained in the performance appraisal faq. You could also approach your company's HR if the office policy is silent on such issues. During the re-consideration phase, the employee mentions reasons for re-consideration. But the final authority rests with the Manager in many cases(as far as my knowledge is concerned). Do you have hierarchy route for appraisal- like after manager another Head of the department has authority to even change ratings accorded by the Manager.
