i am facing some self complex issues...i find it hard to shout on people. those who are under me, i can handle. But when it is someone outsiders/same level, i find it little tough. Even in my routine life, i find it hard to shout on some situation but later first i curse myself of not shouting that time and then i console myself by saying "only tough can forgive other, there is no point in escalating the petty issues and bla..blaa...."
But there are certain things which hits your self respect at times.
I want to be more aggresive, so that nobody can unneccesary dominate me.
Somebody please suggest some exercise or training....

Dear Raj,

What is aggression? One of the dictionary meaning of aggression is “destructive behavior or actions”

Do you want to do some destructive work in life.

And Why you wants to shout at people. For Managing people, it is not necessary to shout each and every person. Actually when you shouts or express your anger in that manner, it shows weakness of your mind.

As a Manager your success proves when you can manage the thing by keeping your cool. In HR many times you have to handle irritating people and situations. You should be perfect in your ideas and also your work .So , other person cannot blame or confuse you.

Your voice and words should have weightage which can have desirable impact on others. Be clear and confident when you are communicating with others. If opposite person is disagree then also in clear words give him/her idea of the impact of the same.

You should shout very rarely and that too purposefully to have some desirable impact. Nobody take it seriously when person is always shout at everyone evertime.

Dear Raj,
Not being aggressive is not your problem. Your problem is that people are taking for granted. This problem has arisen because of lack of assertive skills. Therefore, you learn these skills. Secondly, you also need to learn interpersonal skills. Thirdly, you need to learn how to exercise authority. Exercising the authority is important and it can be done even without shouting also.
Please remember the famous quote of Herodotus (484 BC - 430 BC). He has said "Force has no place where there is need of skill".
Ok...
