Hello,
Director of my company has decided to change the name of company.
Can someone please suggest me what type of changes it can have?
Is it important to change the documents of all employees which we had given from the old name?
Is this can have any effect on company prestige or it happened with some other company also.
thanks,
Pragya Agrawal

Hi PRagya how are you ,
You cannot just change the name of the company like anything,, you have to apply to Registrar of Companies and get the registration certificate amended, also you have to initiate steps to implement effect in service tax no, pan no, tan no and all legal registered documents. Also issue notification in gazette.
No changes in documents needs to be made in documents given to employees, but from the date company name is changed you need to issue all payslips, letters by new name and in bracket old name
Like SWEETY CO LTD (Formerly TWEETY CO LTD)
Then you have to print new signboards, banners, and arrange for stationery accordingly even we changed our organisation name last year due to some changes in management, so i know all these things.
take care,

Thanks for your response, one more thing can you suggest me that as you give the example in this i have to write "formerly" also. I did not get this only.
In the logo also we will have the updated logo??
Thanks,

using word formerly will only make your clients, employees, other people easily recognize ur organisation hence it is advised to use the word formerly
