Hi All,
we are providing house keeping services to some educational institutes, but during the visit of the ALC to the field. He has adviced us to get Contract labour licence saying that we have employed more than 15 employees, but it is not exceeded above 20 during the preceeding year. So I request citehr members to clarify me whether the applicability of Contract Labour licence in karnataka is for 15 employees or 20 employees.

Its 20 employees.
It extends to the whole of India and applies to every establishment or every contractor in which 20 or more workers are employed or were employed on any day of the preceeding 12 months as contract labour. registration is compulsory to employ contract labour.

Dear Kiran
I agree with Mr. Mahesh. The moment you have 20 or more employees enrolled with any of your site,
you have to register yourself with that particular client company/ site but however, the moment you
intend to employ over 20 employees you should go for Contract Labour Licence.

Mr.Vinay,
Registration (Form II) is required for principle Employer to engage the contractors.
and Licence (Form VI) is required for contractor to work in an establishment as contractor (supply contract labours).

Our company is supplying contract labour to a smartphone company. But the client has partnered with some mobile phone stores all around karnataka. all the contract labours supplied by us are deployed at these stores. None of these stores has more than 1 employee. But our agreement is with the smartphone company and total labour supplied to them is more than 500. Are we required to take form-ii and contractor license in this case ?
