i want to know the following things:
1.how to calculate EDLI payable amount in case of employee's death and wat are the thngs to b done frm HR side when employee dies while being on official work and post office hours.
2. which form should b sbmttd to pf dptt. for claiming amt. wil form 20 undr pf act,serve d purpose?
pl help me on this. your valuble advice and experience wil b beneficial for the people like me.

Pl fill up form 10-Dfor pension, Form 5If for EDLI.
I will suggest for contacting the PRO of the concerned office in order to avoid objections before submission of forms.

Dear sir,
Thank you for your valuable advice. form 10 D is used for claiming pension after attaining 58 year of age. I was not aware of Form51F for EDLI and will look for details of it. Thank you so much indeed for your words.

The documents/ forms required are as:
1. Form 20
2. Form 10-D (In duplicate)
3. Form 5IF
4. Death Certificate
5. Relationship of Nominee and their proof.
The forms can be signed by the nominee.
In case to avoid confusion contact your nearest PRO.

5(if) is the form you are writing as 51 F there is no form of such no.
and form 20 is for the use
[1]By the guardian of the minor/lunatic member
OR
[2] by nominee or legal heir of the deceased member
OR
[3] by the guardian of the minor/lunatic nominee or heir for
claiming the provident fund accumulation of minor /
deceased member.
I fell it will surely cut some of your confusion.

As Sachin replied, for processing death employee settlement induldng PF following documents should be taken from the Nomiee.
a) Death certificate
b) Form 20 for Employee Provident Fund Withdraw purpose.
c) Form 10D for Emplouee Pension withdraw purpose.
d) Legal heir letter form Notary public
e) Nominee Bank Account Details
f) 2 passport photographs of nominee.

Sub: EDLI Calculation in case of Death
Sir,
In case of death of an employee, the nominee/legal heir has to apply for P.F.,Pension, Insurance
Fund in Form No.20/10D/5IF. Management has to attest/sign and forward these forms to P.F. Office.
The P.F Office authorities will settle the death claims on top priority basis.
Regarding EDLI settlement, the P.F.office will settle based on P.F.service, the maximum amount will be Rs.60000/-.
