Dear Akansha, As long as training is concerned, it is the Hr’s portfolio. Training on 5S to be imparted to employees is a part of HR.. 5S comes under TPM (Total Productive Maintenance)...

Dear Ms. Akanksha,
5S in our manufacturing plant used to be imparted by technical, especially production personnel, mainly due to the following reasons:
1. We were manufacturing chemicals (highly aggressive).
2. Housekeeping used to be very important.
3. The reasons for housekeeping getting disturbed are mainly the handling of chemicals, movement of machines, and their auxiliaries, etc.
4. HR used to track the training calendars and, through the technical persons, monitor the performance of the individuals and the outcome of the training.
5. As Mr. Ankit wrote, it is a prelude to TPM.
Thanks & regards,

5S/TPM.....
Dear all, I am implementing TPM in my company for the last 9 months. We started this journey with the CLIT (Cleaning, Lubrication, Inspection, Tightening) concept. We take pictures before and after improvements and concurrently fill checkpoints of concern machine by machine with the machine in charge. All these activities are being implemented with the help of management. Recently, we awarded the best machine incharges for their outstanding initiatives.
Here, I want to know what future steps I should take to deliver fruitful results to higher management and to drive TPM activities with more force in my organization. Please guide and provide ideas.
