Dear Sir/Madam,
I am confused about my CTC and salary slip.
I am working as a network engineer in an Industry since 1 year, my basic is 8000 on this 32% HR= 2560 + convince & spcl. all = 2600, so my gross comes to "12560" then after a deduction of 960 P.F & 125 P.T my net salary goes 11485. This is approx salary of my every month.
Now my question is according to this calculation my CTC shall be around 1.2 or 1.5 sumthing but my company declares it 1.9.... HOW?? and when I ask them they say there are several deductions which we can not show....
Thanks alot in advance, Rudhira

Dear Rudhira..
The figure that you have provided of your salary break-up shows that it comes around rupees 13160/- per month. And after deductions of PF and P.T of rupees 960/- and 12//-, the gross salary in hand would come around 12075/-.
And after putting all contents in your break-up it would come around approx 1.7 CTC.. The details of the same is below-
Basic 8000
HRA 2560
Other Allowance 2600
Gross Per Month 13160
Gross Per Annum 157920
PF Contribution Employer 11520
Annual Total Cost 169440
Hope it will fine with you..
If any other hidden content is there.. then it might come 1.9..
Other hidden content may be Insurance and Bonus too..
Otherwise it is the duty of the HR person to give you teh break-up of your salary..

As per your details you youself has given a wrong figure because as per ur figures ur gross comes to 13160 ant not 12560. Anyway....
The slab u hav mention for P.T doesnt exist. 125 doesnt come in any slab.
I could help if u could just attched your payslip(if u dont mind).
tHE HIDDEN DEDUCTIONS ARE PF ON LEAVE , LEAVES/ MONTH, PF ON ADMIN ETC. BUT THEY DOESNT AMOUNT MUCH.
Tell ur HR to disclose th hidden cost.
Feel free to ask....

PT as you said 125 does not fit in any slab. If your gross salary is more than 10000 than, your PT should be 200 p.m. and one more thing, I have recalculated your ctc. It comes to 1.9. This calculation is as I calculate of other employees. Please see It.
Basic:8000
HRA :2560
Oth.Al.:2600
Gross Salary :13160
PF. Contribution(Employers @ 13.61 % on gross Salary): 1089.00
Bonus @ 10 % : 8000.00
Leave with wages @ 5.75 %: 757.00
CTC P.M. Comes to 15806.00 P.M.
15806 multiplied by 12 months you get 189672.00
Approximately it comes to 1.9 Lacs P.A.
Now if you have any other queries you can mail me at
Above calculation is as per I use to calculate CTC of employees in my establishment. Hope this will solve your problem regarding CTC .

Well Mr. Sagar i wanted to ask u that how the calculations of PT is done... can you please explain if i am not bothering you... Thanx alot for all the information.. Rudhira
From India, Bhopal
Hi Rudhira,
As you have tax brackets, similarly professional tax are deducted on the basis of gross income slabwise.
And yes, not all the location have professional tax, for example, salaried people at Mumbai or Tamil Nadu will pay PT and at those working in Delhi do not have this liability.
Hope this clears your doubt..
If I am incorrect, plz rectify.
