In present world, Indian women?s wear are no longer limited to traditional dresses. Now they are often seen wearing western outfits also. Whichever style you go for, the main keywords are style and comfort.
Workplace dressing can be
Indian
Western
Indo-western
No matter which outfit you are going for few things you should always remember:
Do not wear tight dresses.
Do not wear deep cut/ transparent blouse or tops that reveal cleavage.
Avoid heavily embroidered clothes, flashy colours, jewellery that makes sounds, silver & gold sandals.
Indian:
Saree,Salwar ?kurta, Churidar.
In Indian dresses you can also go for colours other than the corporate colours like different shades of green, tarracota etc.But do remember the following:
Don?t wear dazzling, too much multicoloured, wild printed saris or salwars.
Don?t wear heavily embroidered clothes.
Avoid wearing sleeveless blouses and kurtas.
Western:
Suits, formal shirt,skirts & trousers.
Preferably opt for cotton, Lycra and linen as they suit all weathers.
You can opt for any of the corporate colours. However for the weekends you can go for more feminine colours.
Avoid wearing flowy skirts.
Mini-Skirts are a strict NO.
Trouser length should be one and a half inches from the floor to the back of the heel.
Indo-western
Short kurtas, styled with trouser-like pajamas.(In certain companies jeans can be worn.)
Stoles and short scarfs makes the look more smarter.
Office party wear
For a office party if you opt for western outfit then you can go for a nice skirt with a feminine looking blouse. Also you can wear a jacket with it that matches in colour. Go for matching accessories.
In case you opt for Indian outfit you can go for classy saris and salwars/churiders with matching accessories.
Tips: Generally a classic black jacket is always useful.
