Hi,
I am working in IT company in HR department, i always face a problem in making attendance of our seniors(managers, sr.managers, departments heads).
We have CL, EL applicable in our company but as generally happens seniors take off whenever they want or do come after relaxation time and when i prepare attendance i always face problem in adjusting this.
Please suggest how to deal with these kind of situations...

Dear Pooja,
Please talk to your reporting head on the attendance policy. You need to be clear if your organization requires everyone irrespective of level be present within the premises for a definite number of hours.
Incase the org doesn’t there is little that you can do, than just marking them present. Companies that are into research or product development often follow this structure for the senior level. It’s a benefit offered in exchange of their high stress job.
Based on what your reporting says, form a minimum number of hours and if they don’t qualify, before sending the data to the payroll, please confirm their attendance with their reporting heads.
Please do revert if you have further queries.

Thanks for reply....
but except CL/EL they are taking they generally take 3-4days leaves for personal work so in that case too should i mark as a present.
Please suggest what measures should i consider in making attendance of seniors as per all company norms...

Dear Pooja
Further to the excellent suggestion given by (Cite Contribution); in response to your recent query; I would suggest that you do not assume "they generally take 3-4days leaves for personal work".
Since more information about your organization, business activities and hierarchy is not given; yet, I would suggest that it may be possible that your seniors may have been working outside on several projects of your company; which may be well-known to senior management.
One can not imagine that frequent absence of 3-4 days can go un-noticed by the management; there is more of a possibility that there is no system of informing the HR.
Before making salary or sending attendance data, kindly confirm the facts from them or their senior/reporting authorities; lest you scald yourself in your enthusiasm to enforce discipline.
Warm regards.
