thanxqu so much and it is very useful information...you could have put some formula for the mobile allowance so even that shall also show the effect in the sheet...
But any ways it was really very useful excel sheet

I am new to HR dept. If somebody earn Rs. 500000/- per annum, how to calculate the basic salary, what will be the deductions.

Sheet does not cover too many issues;like Bonus @ 8.33%,Leave salary calculation,Gratuity liability etc.
You plz try to develop such a sheet covering all those so that we may really benefit.

In you CTC calc excel, your take home column do not specify TDS deduction. Are we not suppose to take tax into consideration?
Ofcourse the figures you quoted was in the allowable limits, but for anyone who draws salary above 200,000 p.a.
Also I wanted to know, if someone joins the company in the month of Oct and is given 18K pm which is revised to 20k pm january onwards, the total drawn salary for tht FY would be 1,14,000 and so it is under the tax exemption limit. So should we be deducting TDS in such case?
