Plant Safety Observation, Plant Safety Inspection, Safety Sampling and Safety Survey are a few technique for finding unsafe factors in an industry. But these are very confusing. How can we defferentiate one technique from other? If some write up is available, please let me know the link to it.

Whats makes you confusing friend... Safety, neither any technique used in SMS is not a rocket science which makes confusion...
Whats your actual requirement... Let me know... I may can help you...
Then for finding out the unsafe factors, no modern technique available as on today as per my knowledge... you must visually adopt the things from site... Site round is very much required for that... You may say this different names like inspection, audit, observation, etc for the same...
