After the enquiry what is the need of suspending the employee again? If the employee is found guilty you can discharge or dismiss him from service. If it is discharge you can pay him final settlement which includes any gratuity payable, leave salary, salary remaining unpaid till he actually worked etc.
Subsistence allowance is payable only for the period of suspension.

Hi Madhu
Thanks for your response,
Sorry, used the word suspension second time, after enquiry we would like to dismiss the employee. If we are dismissing the employee, do we need to pay the remaining salary during the period of suspension ( since we have paid only 50 % subsitence allownace)
Can you kindly help me in getting better understanding the same

Hi Friends,
My query is - suppose the workman is suspended pending enquiry. The enquiry proceedings continued for 20 days and he was found guilty after enquiry and as per the Standing Orders of the company he was punished with suspension for 2 days. Then, whether he will be paid full salary for 18 days i.e. 20-2 days or else?

dear
if in inquiry all charges made against him proved and you want to terminate his services, you are required to send him second show cause with proposed punishment.
after that you will send a letter of of termination and he is entitle for subsistence allowance, till his services terminated.

Dear Raghu,
I am given to understand that the suspended employee's disciplinary proceedings is over n he's been awarded a punishment of punitive suspension & ur question is how to treat the period of suspension n whether the balance of sub.allnce should be paid?--right?
1)If the period of suspension undergone is treated as punishment (normally limited to 30days only),suspension period beyond 30days should be treated as duty n full wages minus proportionate sub.all already paid should be paid.
