Dear Manjunath,
How did you set the standard time? Have you done a method study of the work in question? If so, what charts, etc have you produced? Have you analysed the present method to see where inefficiencies occur?
Sorry for raising a lot of questions. I worked for years as a Productivity Services Officer/manager in UK before becoming an academic.
Have a nice day.

Hi Simhan,
Thanks for your immediate reply.
Actually, for now i have just recorded the time through stop watch. and i am planning to do PERT Activity Chart, other than that i have not done anything.
Can you please help me, how to proceed further to decrease the time.
Thanks,

Thanks manjunath for the response. You can't set Standard times by just recording the time with a stop watch. How do you know at what rate were the workers working?
What will PRT chart do? You need to give more information about the type of work in question for me to guide you. I suggest that you read material available on the internet regarding Time and Motion study.
Pl drop me a private message with as much detail as you can, if you wish.
Best wishes
