An incident took place in Pune - a young girl was attacked by a man
posing as a plain clothes officer; he asked her 2 come 2 the police
station when she & her male friend didn't have a driver's license 2
show. He sent the boy off 2 get his license and asked the girl to
accompany him to the police station. Took her instead to an isolated
area where the horrendous crime was committed.
The law [which most of us are not aware of] clearly states that
between 6 pm and 6 am, a woman has the right to REFUSE to go to the
Police Station, even if an arrest warrant has been issued against her.
It is a procedural issue that a woman can be arrested between 6am and
6pm, ONLY if she is arrested by a woman officer & taken to an ALL
WOMEN police station. And if she is arrested by a male officer, it has
to be proven that a woman officer was on duty at the time of arrest.
Please fwd this 2 as many girls you know. Also 2 boy's coz this can
help them protect their wife, sisters and mother. It is good for us to
know our rights......Do not neglect, fwd to your entire buddy list...........

Shocking! British empire after 1857 Sepoy Mutiny was in crisis how to control India. After discussion in their Parliament for 3 years they brought Indian Penal code Act in 1960 which is known as IPC 1960.They made our police force cruel like animal because they had to focefully surpress the freedom movement.
Now India is free but Govt. not in mood to change the IPC.It is pertinent to mention here that despite of Detailed direction of Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in the matter of Joginder Kumar vs State of U.P to police regarding Arrest and Detention they are not in mood to obey.even in D.K.Basu vs State of Bengal Hon'ble supreme Court has given direction regarding arrest including in case of arrest of Woman.
Lastly good sense prevails and Govt. of India introduced "Criminal Procedure Code(Amendment ) Bill in Parliament after incorporating the Recomendations of Law Commission, justice Malimath Committee report and guidelines issued by Hon'ble Supreme Court Of India from time to time to restrain the police from arresting a person for criminal offencefor which maximum sentence( jail ) is up to seven years.President Pratibha Patil has also given ASSENT to said Criminal procedure Code ( Amendment) Bill. The main idea behind this amendment is to save the person from illgal dention or arrest or threat of arrest. But again shocking after assent of Hon'ble President it has not been notify as Bar Associations are opposing and demanding not to notify.
In last I would suggest all including girls & woman that No Need of Panic .Even now Law of Land protecting all and special provisions still exist in our Law to protect the woman.Don't forget OFFENCE IS THE BEST DEFENCE.Use your force treating them GOONDA.

Dear Rani,
This is a good information but I don't know that why people didn't post their comment on this ?
Anyways Can you please tell us that if a woman is not aware about this law & male police officer arrests her & took to the ordinary police station? And later she came to know about this law then what kind of suit she can register against that police officer??
