dear smitha,
very very brief details.
What is the need for training the people ? Ultimate aim is to make them "Learning" - about their organisation, its mission, objectives, their job, responsibilities and have behavioural skills in order to achieve the expectations.
1. Keep the details about your organisations.
2. Talk to the target group and try to collect the areas where they feel training is necessary.
3. Talk to senior people and based on their experience, you can be able to get some input.
4. During the training, they must be updated with the recent trends in the 'training'.
5. They must know that the 'learning' is slowly replacing 'training'
6. They need to know the necessity of 'behavioural skills' in order to achieve the target.
7. Focus on technical areas also in the training if it is in your agenda.
may be i will let you know more details later....

Dear Smitha,
Several basic Needs Assessment techniques include:
•direct observation
•questionnaires
•consultation with persons in key positions, and/or with specific knowledge
•review of relevant literature
•interviews
•focus groups
•tests
•records & report studies
•work samples
Hope this will be of use to you.

Dear Friends ,
Middle level Excecutives & Middle level Managers these two terms are some times used saperately & in some cases used as synonym.
  • Can you please help me in knowing what is the correct term MIDDLE LEVEL EXECUTIVES or MIDDLE LEVEL MANAGERS?
  • Is there any year - slot to know junior / Middle/ SENIOR level management?
  • Can you please tell me which usual (common)- title posts covered in MIDDLE LEVEL in manufacturing Sector - from both Technical & Non - technical fields?
I request you this information to support my Research work.

Dear Swati,

The more appropriate term is "Middle Management" to group certain employees under it. Executives and Managers can be grouped under "Middle Mgmt Staff/Employees", depending upon the hierarchical structure of an organisation.

To group different employees under Junior, Middle, Senior and Top Level, consider Experience, Nature of Job, and Importance of the position.

Typically the following yardstick is followed for this purpose:
Junior Mgmt = 0-4 yrs (Assistants / Support Staff / Officers / Executives)
Middle Mgmt = >4 to 12 yrs (Ast Mgr, Dy Mgr, Manager etc.)
Senior Mgmt = >12 to 18 (Sr Mgr, AGM, DGM, GM etc.)
Top Mgmt = >18 (VP, COO, CEO, MD etc.)
