As of 22 June 2009, the World Health Organization has declared 231 confirmed deaths and 52160 confirmed cases of Influenza A (H1N1), also known as Swine Flu, in 99 countries worldwide.

The illness has now been declared of Pandemic Level 6 proportions, i.e. as having reached peak levels of spread as per the WHO chart given below. How long this period will last is anybody's guess, but what is certain is that the above figures are bound to increase drastically. Amongst the WHO recommended action plans for this phase is the implementation of individual and societal measures, in raising awareness, reducing the spread and eventually arresting the illness.

Attached herewith please find some easy reading, designed to raise awareness of the illness and measures that may be employed against it. Please share this with your families, friends and colleagues, in an effort to help hasten the arrest of swine flu.
