Is your hut burning…?
The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him, and every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming.
Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect him from the elements, and to store his few possessions.
But then one day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, the smoke rolling up to the sky. The worst had happened; everything was lost. He was stunned with grief and anger. "God, how could you do this to me!" he cried.
Early the next day, however, he was awakened by the sound of a ship that was approaching the island. It had come to rescue him. "How did you know I was here?" asked the weary man of his rescuers. "We saw your smoke signal," they replied.
It is easy to get discouraged when things are going bad. But we shouldn't lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of pain and suffering. Remember, next time your little hut is burning to the ground it just may be a smoke signal that summons the grace of God.

We believe that every being is divine, is God. Every soul is a sun covered over with clouds of ignorance; the difference between soul and soul is owing to the difference in density of these layers of clouds.

That's a really good one Kumar.

I remember another similar story to highlight that HE is always there with us...especially when we think HE forgot us.
There was one soul who didn't want to be born as a human being on this Earth, but God promised him that HE will always be by his side-thru thick & thin.
So, the story goes, this soul was born and lived a full life. And as is normal with any birth-be it human or animal or any other being- he too had his share of grief & happiness.
And when he died & looked back @ his footsteps of that life, he noticed that during the most critical times of his lifetime, there were ONLY TWO FOOTSTEPS, while all the rest of the life there were four.
And when he went back to God, his FIRST complaint to God was: YOU broke YOUR PROMISE. See the footsteps. YOU left me alone during the time when I most needed YOU.
That's when God told him: those two footsteps you see during the most tough times of your life were MINE......I was carrying you on my shoulders.....and dropped you on your feet again when that time passed.

Well.......that's life--as long as one keeps up the faith.
