Hi,
I wish to start reward and recognition programme for a team size of about 50 employees. I would like to create a process for the same.
Reward and recognition would include providing a certificate of appreciation or certificate of commendable performance. eg. like employee of the month or an extra mile award kinds.
Please suggest how can one judge who is the best performer in the team when we have different teams having different set of responsibilities. Also, how can these certificates be prepared at the cheapest price knowing that recession is in the economy and companies are into cost cutting.
Please advise.
Thanks.

Dear Vipin,
Akshita have specifically asked to provide material for taking decision for a best performer in the teams of employees having different responsibilities. Moreover, it is appreciable that you have given such a nice elloborative list of materials which may be utilise in award giving functions by the H R members.
However it is suggested that Akshita may go through employee/ self appraisal post/ threads on this citehr for finalising the best performer of the unit. He/She may prepare the certificates on the computer itself due to cost cutting factors.
Submitted as requested.

Hello Akshita,
Kindly take a look at Discovering Future Performers in Your Team it may give you some ideas.
I think the best way would be is for you to identify some key common features for success of temas and ask each team member to rate others (independent of each other) and then workout the score. I have done this with my students when they were allocated group work, to distribute equitably the group assessment marks to individual team members.
Have a nice day.
