Dear Yamuna,
I understand ur feelings, but this is still not possible in india. U can invite them by marking induction mail for HR induction.
But in my view, it will not work at all.
people will not take it seriuosly at all. pls call them at ur corproate office.
Don't put urself on the fence.

Hi Yamuna,
In my company generally we send a welcome mail to new joinee and mark a CC to all regarding his / her introduction and to make a new joinee feel that he is warmly welcomed as well as we conduct informal session of one to one introduction where a new joinee can personally meet the other staff.
This is the format of welcome mail....

Hi Yamuna,

Firstly, you can give a sheet of paper having the followin detailsto the new joinees(you can add whatever you feel) asking them fill in
  1. People know me by
  2. DOB
  3. Sun Sign
  4. Philosophy et etc etc add on...
load these details to to a slide or flash(your wish) with their photographs

Since your firm is scattered across the nation there must be common/group e-mail id's at your firm. So,send the above slide/flash across the id's reaching inboxes

You can add an apt caption like "Get to know ur Fellows/colleagues/friends etc"

and also wish them good luck.:icon10:
