Hi all,
I want to know why is that entry to an hr professional is very tough , if not we are asked to sign contracts with the employer. Please help me in taking a decision. I am a fresh MBA
I got a offer from EPRO CORP PVT LTD. and the position is IT
Recruiter, but they are asking me to sign a contract for two years.
The pay is 7500 pm. the problem is if i join as a it recruiter I am
Afraid that I will be doing the same job till the end of the second
Year, i.e., I will not get experience in any other functional
Activities of hr. so I am requesting you to advice me weather to
Take it or not.

SRINIVASAN,
PLEASE make a pros / cons on a piece of paper.
Because, at the end of the day, you will make the ultimate decision
and not others.
PROS
-job opportunity
-some income
-no waste of your time.
-opportunity to show your competence
-opportunity to build /gain experience.
-gain work experience
-understand the organization culture
-understand the work climate
-dealing with people internal
-dealing with people external
-interviewing experience
etc etc
CONS
-not attractive salary
-stuck for 2 years/BOND
-minimal experience
-fear of losing other opportunities
etc etc.
IF YOU ARE CONFIDENT OF GETTING ANOTHER JOB OPPORTUNITY,
FORGET ABOUT THIS ONE.
BUT I CAN ALSO ADD, THAT, THIS BOND IS LEGALLY
BINDING. UNDER YOUR OWN CONSTITUTION, BONDING
IS SLAVERY AND HENCE ILLEGAL. COMPANIES GET AWAY THIS
BECAUSE OF DEMAND FOR JOBS/ LACK OF LEGAL CHALLENGE.
BUT AT THE SAME TIME , LOOK AT THE POSITIVE SIDE.
WHAT YOU CAN LEARN IN 2 YEARS
-developing recruitment policies
-developing selection policies
-job analyses
-writing job description
-writing job specification
-conducting interviews
-evaluation of applicants
-writing recruitment ads.
-interaction with other departmental heads
-developing communication skills [ verbal]
-developing communication skills [ written]
-presentation skills
PLUS SUBJECT TO YOUR OWN INITATIVES, YOU GAIN MORE.
SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT, BUT IT IS YOUR DECISION.

Hi leo
I did that work soon after the interview session, but I don’t know why people use this negative approach just to retain the employees, that too it is not a established concern, any how I got a good idea from your message and thank you very much for that .
After so much of thinking I decided to say no to that organization because I have strong confidence on me that I will be getting lots of offers to prove my competency.
once again i thank you

Hai,
My suggestion is as follows.
1. Join the company as IT recruiter. You need to spend atleast one year for you to understand the IT terminology and have excellent skill in that area. The more the work you do , the more you learn. Intially you also got to have a strong foundation.
2. When you develop this skill, then you can also help in team building activities by knowing what the technical persons are doing. There need not be any timeframe for you to learn this. Then and there , as and when you recruit , you will learn a lot.
As an H.R . i can tell you the name of electronic components , protocols, various processors in D.S.P. , Embedded and V.L.S.I.
No one gave me time to learn this but I did it as and when I recruit.
After induction , you got to interact with the person about the job. Get interested and learn more about their profile.
Above all, only interest in the field will enable you to gain knowledge.
Enjoy working even if it for a bond .

Hi Mr. Neelam
Thank you for your advice, but after thinking a lot I have decided to leave that offer because being my first offer made me feel negative and that to it is not a reputed concern I don’t want to spend my beginning days with out an exposure
Any way thank you for your advice once again
