Want to know Eligibility for EDLI.
Pls let me know whether a person aged 59 years is eligible for EDLI or Not, do we require to contribute for EDLI
However we are not contributing to Pension Fund as he is above 58 Yrs of Age.

Since EDLI is a kind of Insurance, contribution to EDLI may be mandatory even for those above 58 years of age. I am sorry, I have not come across with such situation. We shall wait for more opinion in this regard. I will also get back to you soon.

EDLI (Above 58 Yrs)
To me it seems that we continue to contribute to EDLI as long as the employee is in service. The EDLI is type of insurance to provide a lump sum amount in to the members of the family in case of any causality happens to the bread winner while in service.
This is a social security scheme where by the employer has to contribute to the EDLI.
