Hi All,
All of us are watching the India Against Corruption movement led by Anna Hazare. Any Movement, Mission, Goal needs an Organization to achieve it. And when Organization comes there will be different personalities working together for its cause.
Team Anna is also comprise of many personalities from various backgrounds such as social work, ex govt. officers, etc. The recent turmoil in the core team shows many points to learn from HR perspective. One point is core members are not on consensus of the path of the Movement(IAC). So what can Team Anna do from HR management point of view to resolve issues and form a strong core team which will lead this IAC movement?
Deciding a Leader- obvious choice is Anna Hazare.
Fixing Values- Anna Hazare must fix and follow the Values for the Movement.
Selecting Team members- while selecting any core team member, there must be thorough background verification, alignment of Values of individual with IAC movement, skill identification and allotment of responsibilities accordingly, a "probation" period before absorping that member in the core team.
As Hazare said under this Movement, there will be other many issues to be worked on like Electoral Reforms, etc. Therefore the Core Team should prepare a proper blue print for all such issues to work on with detailed strategic plan.
Apart from Anna, all Core Team members must have Leadership skills to lead this Movement. There are and will be many doubts, questions, allegations raised by Govt., Media, etc on the Movement. The communication through blogs, speaches, press conferences must be done by a particular team member to avoid any counter statements by another team member.
After all, to achieve any Goal, Mission, Leader has to win confidence of followers.
